Glo’s Purpleberry Protein Smoothie

It’s 530 am as I write this morning. Only a lampshade dimly lights the living room. It’s the quietest room in the house, farthest from the street sounds that come from the windows in the kitchen and bedroom.
I do love mornings. I feel focused and peaceful, with the hopefulness of a fresh start.

Today I have a yummy fresh way to start the day!  It’s pretty, it’s purple, and it’s my new favorite smoothie!  And in my humble opinion, blueberries should’ve been called purpleberries.

Glo’s Purpleberry Smoothie
1 cup frozen blueberries
1 cup almond milk or coconut milk
2-3 dates (take the pits out!)
1/3 banana (small chunk)
1 TBSP almond butter
1 tsp flax seed
1 tsp cinnamon
2 TBSP Standard Process Complete protein powder **

If your blender has difficulty, just add more almond milk. My vitamix can destroy anything so these measurements work perfectly, but consistency is always open for negotiation:) make it how you like!

**I am instructed to drink 2-3 protein shakes per day during this Standard Process detox. The protein is not very sweet like many protein supplements, so take that into consideration when you’re making your own smoothies (i.e. remove dates?)
