There are days I am in the mood to toil over a very complicated recipe that requires several hours in the kitchen. BUT, quite often, something fast and easy suites me well. Like today! I made the easiest gourmet Sweet Rolls ever. They took 15 min tops and that included oven time. #winning.
Pillsburry doughboy is my homeboy. He makes these “Honey Butter” Grands biscuits. They’re less than $2! That may make some implication to their nutritional level, but let’s not talk about that right now. We’re busy making sweet rolls.
Buy some and bake them at 350 as the package instructs (mine were done in 12 min – but my oven is old and capricious)
Let them cool on a plate. Once they are somewhat cool, open a can of Sweetened Condensed Milk and drizzle it over the tops. Sprinkle slivered almonds on the gooey stuff. (if the buns are too warm still, it will all melt off the tops, and land on your plate. Learn from my failures of past)
Then you can dust them with powdered sugar, using a little sifter! In kitchen tools, sifters rank in my top 5. So fun to use, and they make things pretty.
Whisks are my #1. But we’ll talk about that some other time.
So next time you have company and need to make something quick, just brew a pot of coffee and bake these sweet rolls. You’re guests will believe you labored in the kitchen. Let them! : )
